We are creeping towards the middle of the 2009-2010 Fall Season for Lincoln University sports. The athletic season kicked off a little less than a month ago and the Lincoln Lions have been clawing, scratching and fighting to restore their roar.

Saturday, October 10th, marks an extremely honorable moment for Lincoln University's football program; it will be the long awaited Homecoming game for the university, an event that people are more than ready to see. This will be Lincoln's second Homecoming in 50 years. Lincoln will play against Bowie State University at Avon Grove High School.

Although the football team is more than ready to proudly represent their university come Homecoming weekend, they still have to prepare themselves for Virginia Union University, who they have to play a week prior to Homecoming on the 3rd of October.

Since the season has kicked off, the Lions have a record of 2-2-0, already exceeding the amount of wins in their previous season.

Both Lincoln University's Men and Women soccer teams have hit mid-season as well. The Women's soccer team has played nine games, while the Men's team has played eight.

The start of the season has been a rocky one for the men's team. They have a record of 0-7 (0-3 home and 0-4 away). While they have yet to win a game, they still have a whole season ahead of themselves and a large number of opportunities to take. The season is far from over. The women's team having a 2-7 record (1-4 home, 0-1 away and 1-2 Neutral), have also encountered some pot holes along the road, but it is safe to say that the second half of the season still awaits.

Women's Volleyball is well into their season and still have a number of matches left before the end of the season. Already playing eighteen games, the team has taken more than an appetizing slice of the huge cake of their season. Having a record of 6-13 (2-5 home, 1-3 away, 3-5 neutral, 3-1 conf.) the Lady Lions still have some ways to go.
