Ashley Gabb, who graduated from Lincoln University last year with a degree in Mass Communications, has been appointed to the position of Assistant Director of Public Relations.
Gabb, who hails from the Poconos, says that she is excited about the opportunity to help spread the word about the positive activity taking place at the university.
"I heard about the position from a colleague, and I sent my resume," says Gabb. " Then I had an interview with Mr. [Michael] Hill [The Vice President of External Relations & Development], and a month later they called me and I was offered the job."
In the Department of External Relations and Development, Gabb is responsible for writing press releases, handling publications, such as the Lincoln Review, and highlighting the accomplishments of students and staff.
Despite her lack of work experience, Gabb says that she has a strong work ethic and is committed to helping train a national spotlight on her alma mater.
Gabb says that she eventually plans to pursue a masters degree in broadcast and hopes to study at Columbia University or Northwestern.
But for now, she says that she remains committed to her job here at Lincoln.
"I love my Lincoln," she says. "I'm glad I can come back to be a service. It's infectious; you're guaranteed to love it."
As a professional on campus, Gabb says that one of the greatest challenge is seeing herself as a professional instead of as a student.
"I still call some of my professors by their last name, but now I can call them by their first name, it's funny," she says.

That looks like lots of fun. When I was in college we didn't had so many fun activities.
