Lincoln University has been bombarded by international media coverage and has been the subject of criticism and the butt of late night jokes after the university decided to enforce its controversial plan to require students with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or above, to enroll in a fitness course before they are permitted to graduate in May.
Lincoln University students will now have to endure a physical exam determining each student's BMI (body mass index) before they are permitted to graduate. An individual's BMI measures the amount of body fat. Amid fierce criticisms, Lincoln University has recently installed a new requirement for its undergraduate students.
Lincoln University held its annual Honors Convocation last Thursday, recognizing about 400 undergraduate students, who possess outstanding academic achievements. Founded in the wake of Boyz II Men mentoring program's success, Quest to Womanhood is the brain child of Nashee Pritchett, a 19-year-old Lincoln University sophomore and President of Quest II Womanhood.
With H1N1 or commonly known as "Swine Flu," becoming a threat on many college campuses, Lincoln University has taken initiative to trim down the chances of any cases hitting home. Within the past month, the university has added Purell Hand Sanitizer Dispensers around the campus to prevent the spreading of colds and flu viruses through the hands.
